How to Prepare Your Trip to Le Mans

Planning a trip to Le Mans? Here is our complete guide to make sure everything goes smoothly, from arrival to departure.

How to get here?

By car

Le Mans is ideally located at the crossroads of the A11 (Paris-Nantes) and A28 (Tours-Rouen) motorways. From Paris, allow approximately 2 hours by road. Our house has free private parking.

By train

Le Mans TGV station is served from Paris Montparnasse in 55 minutes. From the station, a taxi or Uber will bring you to us in 15 minutes.

When is the best time to visit?

  • June: for the 24 Hours of Le Mans (book early!).
  • July-August: to enjoy the Nuit des Chimères and summer activities.
  • September-October: for pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists.

What to pack?

The Sarthe has a temperate oceanic climate. Plan for:

  • An umbrella (showers are frequent)
  • Layers (evenings can be cool)
  • Good walking shoes for the Old Town
